Wedding Rings…

so to speak…these enchanting hanging rings decor will be a beautiful addition to your wedding decor. They can be hung over the dessert table, guest check-in table, photo booth or just about anywhere! They are made of everlasting flowers/leaves (aka plastic and wool blend felt) and will last for years to come as a reminder of your wedding day.

This photo set-up was a total impromptu, a mixture of different themes and hues just to showcase these lovely rings of flowers! I’m loving the wine stoppers for a simple but elegant table/seat card.

Please visit my etsy shop if you’re looking for the wedding decor below.  Invitations, signage, favors will be available soon.

There’s still a little magic left in this world…

I think that every time I see trees sprouting new leaves after a cold winter. I mean c’mon…it was just dried and barren the other day and then BAM…it’s green. That’s MAGIC! Their strength and resiliency is amazing to behold. I should strive to be like the tree. 🙂 It reminds me of this quote that my cousin texted to me, on a juice box, of all places…”Don’t worry if your tasks are small and rewards are few, remember that the mighty oak was once a nut like you.” – unknown

So keep on striving! It’s a reminder to myself. And you too, my one reader. 😀 Don’t give up, keep on creating the things you love and soon others will notice. Keep on creating magic. Like this fairy wand that I just made! Out of mustard wool blend felt, iridescent ribbons, buttons, jingle bells and dreams. I witnessed this man/father yelling obscenity to his five? year old son on the street. Just straight yelling f* bombs. This poor kid never had a chance. I hope the little boy has someone in his life, anyone, that will ease some of his suffering. Some wounds can’t healed, unfortunately. And then he grows up…vicious cycle…or not. If only someone gave him a magic wand. 🙂

If you don’t know me by now…I add in humor to diffuse the hopelessness and negativity. It’s the only way to cope, to survive, to live.

So tell me…is there any items from your childhood you still hold on to? or cherished?

(Note: this fairy wand and print is available on my etsy shop)

And these are just some of the color combinations I have in my etsy shop! What can I say…I’m a wool felt maniac! I really like this material because it does not fray and holds up well! I’m really happy with these pieces…they make such an enchanting addition to a nursery space! The one with the gold rim anemone flowers were custom created for one of my client which is coined “The Eleanor” for baby Eleanor. It was so much fun getting to play around with colors and making it just right for the client. 🙂

I heart SF

It’s been awhile since I made time to actually go out and have an adventure. This new business I tell you…it sucks up A LOT of time in the beginning. A LOT. But I can never forget my first love…my love of an adventure! The easy simplicity of eating good food. Of exploring new places and re-visiting old haunts. I wonder if I’m a gypsy in the former life. The gals and I went to San Franciso for a day. I don’t think I can ever get tired of that city. I’ve been there numerous time in the past…but never actually walking across the Golden Gate. That was a first for me. I really enjoy walking around. You get to see things that you often miss when driving. Way to state the obvious right?!?! But I mean really see things as a local. We started our day at Blackwood, an Asian-Thai fusion restaurant (their words not mine…cause isn’t Thai…Asian? I guess they wanted to be specific) and the atmosphere is intimately casual. My favorite kind of space. While the main entree we tried was okay, the ahi-tuna appetizer is ahhhhmazzing. I would go back there just for that! Can you recall moments in your life when you had some really great tasting food? I know I do!

(Note: I didn’t take this picture…although I wish I did…but I didn’t want to be one of those people that take pictures of their food…well not all the time lol)

Full Disclosure: Only my friend Trangie and I walked across the 1.7 mile bridge. The other was passed out in the backseat of the car while the DD (Ruth) “baby” sat her. Baby is her nickname conveniently enough lol. Afterwards we headed to Golden Gate Bakery…and luckily I called in advance to see if they are open because usually they are on vacation. I guess when you have that much patrons waiting in line for your egg tart (my favorite btw) you can afford to go on vacation that often.

All in all, the best day!

Kissssinnng Ball is made for smooching or for a beautiful wedding keepsake!

img_9334 img_9326 img_9323  img_9349 img_9361 img_9362 img_9364

I’ve never realized the meaning of the “kissing ball”…I just thought it was because all the flowers were touching, therefore “kissing” each other. I always liked the look of it for flower girls to carry down the aisle instead of bouquet of flowers or basket of petals. Less work for the flower girl to do and such a beauty too! 🙂

According to reference.com:

The kissing ball is a tradition that started in England during the Middle Ages. The holiday kissing ball, which was referred to as “holy boughs” during that time period, is designed to be hung over doorways as an omen of goodwill to all who visit. It is also a sign that the homeowner embraces or welcomes visitors.

This kissing ball will make such an enchanting accessory to that fairy tale wedding! It is available on my etsy shop now.

As always, thank you for stopping by and visiting my page.

Even if I fall….

The words from Bethany Joy’s song “Let Me Fall” is playing over and over in my head and if ever there is a song that most reflect what I feel right now, what I felt for awhile…this is it.

It’s October again – The leaves are coming down – One more year’s come and gone – And nothing’s changed at all
Wasn’t I supposed to be someone – To face the things that I’ve been running from
Let me feel – I don’t care if I break down -Let me fall – Even if I hit the ground
And if I cry a little, die a little – At least I know I lived – Just a little
I’ve become much too good – At being invincible – I’m an expert at play it safe  – And keep it cool
But I swear – This isn’t who I meant to be – I refuse to let my life roll over me

Playing it safe, that’s me. With all my talk about chasing dreams and adventures, there’s the other part of me that is terrified. Terrified of failing. Terrified that I might have to find a corporate job again while I wait for my business to take off.

But one big thing (for me) I decided to do as the result of this song is to showcase some of my products at the galt outdoor market. I’ve been putting it off because I’m not sure if the clientale there will be interested in my products. Scary to put yourself out there but I really want people have a chance to look at my items physically, especially my wedding invitations. I still have to work out the kinks..especially the part about managing the money part of the digital sales (here’s hoping). So even if I fall…

Good-bye 2016

and learning to let go of pesky annoyances. And surrounding myself with genuine people. People who genuinely care about your well-being and take the time to check in with you…regardless of their busy schedule. People who really want to interact with you, not just because no one else is around. People who put themselves in others’ shoes and have compassion and understanding. People who give more than take and appreciate and know your worth and time. This world we live in, so consumed with favorites, popularity, and the next big thing that we are losing sight of authenticity. A sense of community, a shared experience. Kids growing up to be tamed by apps on smartphones. I see it all around me, people on their phones at get-togethers. This has become the norm. This is what the children will inherit. A world divided: the have and have nots made abundantly wider by the advent of smartphones.

Let’s go back to the days where kids run in the field of wildflowers, play kings and queens and have adventures in their own backyard instead of the virtual world.

Good bye 2016, you have been by far the hardest year, but with that the realization that it too shall pass and it did. And so another year begins. To new adventures and reconnecting with old friends! To learning spanish. To moments of clarity and joy.

Wedding Invitation Suites Unveiled…..

Unveiled…get it? Yep, I’m a dork, got that memo a looong time ago. I’m slowly working on getting the rest of the wedding invitation suites ready to market. I’ve created these seed packets wedding favors that doubles as seating assignments as an economical option for the wedding party. Not only are they budget-friendly but functional and lovely too! Most of the weddings I’ve attended gave out chocolate boxes, plastic rings/shoes, shot glasses, etc…which I end up not using and tossing or collecting dust somewhere. So I did some brainstorming and came up with these seed packets which set the theme for this garden-inspired wedding. I used glassine wax bags for the seeds because I like the opaque translucent look of it. But you can also use brown bags for a natural/rustic feel. You can also attached several of them to wooden sticks and placed them in plant pots or get bigger frames if you have a lot of guests. Ahhh…the options are endless! In the back of the labels are plant care instructions and can be customizable depending on the plant type.

So if anybody is planning a wedding soon and thought these invites and corresponding items will be perfect, please contact me via my email or my etsy shop (if I ever get around to pricing these). 🙂
